Get Your Marc Jacobs Groove On
Say goodbye to the fifties and sixties, and say hello to the seventies!
Marc Jacobs pays tribute to the seventies with his new Spring fashion collection.
In his collection, he designed halter dresses with metal plates and strapless jumpsuits with fun, colorful prints all over them.
M.J. chose bright colored fabrics to connect all of his looks in the show. He said fall is going to have all neutral colored clothes. So, he wanted Spring to be bright and vibrant.
The first look at fashion week was a rich, orange pea coat.
It had belled shaped sleeves and a sash belt.
For the final show touches, he added a huge fabric flower to a model's red, frizzy hair.
It was such a show stopper. Something, I wouldn't mind copying.

Sorry about not having many photos!
I was only able to upload one photo tonight because blogger was slow,
and I didn't have the patience to deal with it.
But anyways, Happy Tuesday!

Marci, The First Pig In Space!
Behold, Marci the flying pig.
Megan, and I created her last night for a science project.
We can't wait to send her up and into space.
By the way, she is a water bottle rocket.
Cool, right?
Speaking of space, Christopher Kane has a really cool clothing line that looks like Outer Space.
It is kind've a hippie style but, with an astronomy print.
So, they could be called Astro Hippies!
I'm trying to decide if I like the shoes or not, they remind me of Barbie shoes.
Are they a yes or a no?
You decide.

Amuck
Amuck. What does that mean? I have no idea what it means all I know is that Amuck is a local brand in Kansas City. It's really cool because they find scraps of metal and other materials to make their jewelry. I like the thought of finding pieces of metal and then making them in to jewelry. It's super cool and it helps the Earth. Thanks for the necklace Jessica!
I found the Definition!
Definition of Amuck-
1. In a frenzy to do violence or kill.
2. In or into a jumbled or confused state.

Our Economy... Blah, Blah, Blah
As you all know our economy stinks... and we have no money.
Like many families, we are not going to spend all of our money on clothes, shoes, and accessories like we used to.
So... that means no more expensive cashmere sweaters from J.Crew or Louis Vuttion purses.
How about a few shopping tips for the budget conscience teen.
- If you really want something, wait for it to go on sale
- Try shopping at Thrift Stores, you will not believe what you can find. Remember my awesome Converse shoes?
- Outlet shopping, for example Legends in Kansas, has great deals
- Look for coupons of online specials
Did you know that 28 American Eagle Outfitters stores will be closing and a shocking 60 Abercombie and Fitch stores will be closing in the U.S.? I am not sure how this will effect Kansas City stores yet. But, it's sad to know that a lot of great stores aren't surviving the poor economy.
Upcoming stores that will be closing in 2010 click here and here.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
The first day of school outfit is such a big deal to lots of girls, including me. My inspiration this year is florals. Bright pinks and reds mixed with with dark navy blue and forest green. It reminds me of a first date outfit. You know when the girl walks in slow-motion and her hair blows back and the guy just sits there thinking DAMM! Totally fun, and comfortable.
Excuse the smirk on my face. I think that I was watching my mom make a fool of herself while all of the cars slowed down to see what my mom was doing. Just the usual, taking photos.
Oh yes, the best thing happened today, Justin Beiber got hit with a water bottle and I got the silver, sparkly, oxfords that I have been dreaming of from Forever 21!

Spring Thunderstorms and Shoes
Ahhh, the smell of worms, rain, and brand new shoes are in the air. Well, not exactly brand new shoes. But anyways, Oxfords and Dr. Martens are coming back! Dr. Martens have the cutest floral prints I have ever seen! They are great for everything except walking through 4 inches of snow and lots of rain. Anyways, they can go with a simple a pair of skinny jeans or even a Betsey Johnson dress. They are definitely a must have on my birthday list!
Oxfords... pure genius. They go with anything and I mean anything. You can dress up with them and you can dress casual with them! Who doesn't love them? (I don't have to wear them as a uniform but I wish I could.)These are another must haves on my birthday list which is coming up very soon.
Great Deal: Forever 21 is selling them for $20!

I'm Late for a Very Important Date!
Long time,no see! I have so much to talk about, so let's get started.
I have been reading a great book. Not a magazine, a book, a hard covered book that has to do with fashion and let me tell you it is honestly the best book I have ever read. It also written by the one the only Nina Garcia!
What I like about this book is that she gives you a guide to finding your individual style and not a manual to be the the most trendiness girl on the block. She explains that clothes don't make you, you make you. She also goes on to explain that confidence is the prettiest thing that a girl can wear. If you have a chance to read this book, do read it. I got hooked and I might read it again.
I finally got to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D at the movie theater. It was very creepy but not so creepy you had to leave the movie theater. I loved it. After seeing it I kept drawing outfits for my school's performance of Alice and Wonderland. Ooh, I forgot to tell you guys that I am small Alice!! I am so excited. I mean it would be super duper cool if I cold wear the queen of hearts outfit that she gives Alice or ride in Johnny Depp's hat but, it should be pretty fun without that stuff. Okay, I would like to wear a outfit like Alice does in that movie because some of them are pretty creative.
Next, if you have the time you might want to stop at Pacsun. They are having a great sale on their jeans and t-shirts. I recently purchased two pairs of jeans for only $15.00. Plus, if you buy 3 graphic tees or tanks you get another one free!

Why Yes, I Did
I know exactly what you are thinking- "Is that a spray paint heart on snow"?
Why yes, yes it is and my dad doesn't know about it yet, so it can be our secret. (Dad if your looking at this the spray paint has probably dyed the snow or it has been tracked all around the house but remember, it's just red spray paint.)
But, let's not get off topic.
Okay, I found these perfect pair of Converse High tops at my local Thrift Store. They cost $6.00. Amazing, I know this sounds kinda nasty because they have been worn before. I cleaned mine and I wear really, really, really, thick socks with them. I love them because they will go with everything and they look cute with almost any style of jeans. Everytime I walk into a Thrift Store, I head straight to the shoes, because once I found a pair of Michael Kors tennis shoes and yes, they were real Michael Kors and super cute... but a size 8. If you know me, I am barely a size five. So, that's why I go to the shoes first. When I saw the high tops, they made my heart sing. It was love at first sight!

Lazy Sunday
Happy Valentine's Day everybody! Today was my kind of day, a chococolate breakfest, spending time with my family, and watching my dog go crazy over this flying chicken we got her for Valentine's day. I have fallen in love with Forever 21's Love collection. It's fun, romanatic, and chic at the same time. My favorite piece is the Boys Love Me tank, it's very cute and funny. This is where I got the idea for this outfit. Red and white are my favorite colors for Valentine's Day. I am wearing a Gap Kids skirt, vintage heels from mom's closet, a Chanel bag from mom's closet, a Tee from Marshells, and a vintage necklace from the thrift store. Oh, and I forgot the rose from Quiktrip!
Thanks Sutton for taking the photos, you are one awesome brother!

Stop and Smell The Roses...
On Wednesday and Thursday, my mom and I created organza flowers. Yes, they are for Valentine's day gifts ~ but we will be selling the bracelets and the brooches on Etsy very soon! My friends love neon colors! So, I decided to create flowers with their style in mind.
These are my moms flowers that she made for her friends on Valentine's Day.
I call these 80's flowers !
Happy Valentine's Day!

Obsession
I am really in love with Betsey Johnson. This Christmas, my parents bought me a Betsey Johnson necklace, I LOVE IT TO PIECES! The bright, vibrant colors make me smile every time I look at one of her collections. She also, has a cool vintage flair. I am soooo happy that I live by a Betsey Johnson store! I tell my parents almost everyday that I am going to wear a Betsey Johnson dress to prom-- no matter what! Well, they think that my date for the prom is going to think that I look like a rainbow that spit up... but who cares~she is my favorite dress designer other than Vera Wang but, I will save that story for later.
This necklace is so unique from all the other necklaces out there, because of the bebbled glass on top and the bows on the sides of the heart. Screaming fabulous details!
These are three of my favorite outfits she has made. They are a little crazy and weird but I like it! My favorite outfit is the one to the right. I just love those purple colored tights with the crazy skirt.
I love the tye-dyed hair pieces and her underwear is so funny. You can buy one pair with a "B" on it and another one with an "E", so on and so on until you spell B-E-T-S-E-Y!
xoxo

"Inspiration"
“To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you” -Tony Dorsett
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by fashion magazines. Unfortunately, I'm not able to go to all those wonderful fashion shows, so the next best thing...is magazines. I could spend hours looking through Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire.
One of my favorite things to do is to cut pictures out that I like from my fashion magazines and then pin them onto my bulletin board. It allows me to build on to my creativity and design my own outfits without actually having to buy the clothes. I enjoy designing outfits from magazines, and it inspires me to wear similar clothes in my everyday outfits.
Maybe someday, I will sketch and sew my own line but, for now, I will leave it to my idols like Marc Jacobs.
Keep reaching for the stars,

Fashion Friday!!
Fashion Friday has arrived and Project Runway started it's new season tonight.
L.O.(top photo) is wearing one of my favorite outfit's because of the vibrant colors and it makes me think of the early 80's design vibe. This is on my fashion must have list from Forever 21. She looks Awesome!
H.M. ( second photo from the top)is looking fabulous in her Hollywood styled sunglasses. What teen doesn't leave the house without them? I tried on several pairs at Gap kids to today.
Me ( bottom two photos) I am wearing a Bomber jacket, a plaid flannel shirt, skinny jeans, and red Converse. My favorite thing about my my outfit is the leather bomber jacket from Hollister Co. I like it because it reminds me of the Southern California grunge look. It's a basic piece that could be worn with anything.
My goal of hosting Fashion Friday is to showcase what teens are wearing and to highlight their styles. Send photos to me for the next Fashion Friday.
